Jill Stein returns to Rochester!

We are working to finalize the details for Dr. Stein's return to Rochester next Friday, October 12th.  We hope to have a public forum at the University of Rochester in the afternoon and a house fundraiser in the evening.  If you missed her when she visited in March, now's your chance to meet her and hear about the Green New Deal.

Candidate Forums

There are a few local forums that Green candidates will be participating in this year, bringing Green ideas to an audience that we may not normally reach.  Come participate in this important part of the democratic process and interact with candidates of all political affiliations.

Strong Museum of Play - 1 Manhattan Square, Rochester, NY
Candidates Participating: Colia Clark (US Senate), Drew Langdon (NYS Assembly), representative for Jill Stein (President)

Rochester Greek Letter Coalition - October 16th, 6pm
First Genesis Baptist Church - 292 Hudson Ave, Rochester, NY

Monthly Meeting: Q&A with Drew

We have moved the time and location of our monthly educational meeting to the 2nd Thursday, 7pm at the Flying Squirrel Community Space on Clarissa St.  That's Thursday, October 11th this month.
We'll be opening the floor for a question & answer period  with Drew Langdon, our candidate in the 137th Assembly District. Ask your questions and find out why you should support him over Democratic incumbent David Gantt.

The Flying Squirrel Community Space is a wheelchair accessible facility. ASL interpretation can be provided with 48 hours notice togreenpartyofmonroecounty@gmail.com.

Housing is a Human Right march

The Green Party of Monroe County is co-sponsoring the Housing is a Human Right march on October 16th with many other local organizations. This march is making two demands of the Rochester City Council.  1) Divest all public funds from JP Morgan Chase, and 2) halt police participation in all bank evictions.  Meet us in Washington Square Park at 5pm.  Further details can be found at http://metrojustice.org/2012/09/housing-is-a-human-right-march/.

Creating Workplace Democracy in Rochester

The development of economic democracy through worker-owned cooperatives has been a central theme of our campaigns over the last few years so we wanted to let you know about a great new initiative called the Rochester Organization for Workplace Democracy.  This group will be hosting an introduction to cooperation and what we can do here in Rochester on October 14th, from 1:30-5pm at the Cornell Cooperative Extension.  See https://www.facebook.com/events/466750980022462/ for further details.

Dinner with Colia Clark

If you'd like to have extra time to meet with Colia Clark while she's in Rochester for the CDR forum, please come eat dinner with us at Aladdin's Natural Eatery (Monroe Ave) at 4pm on the 9th.

Public Market Outreach

Help us spread the word about all of our candidates; Drew Langdon, Jill Stein, Cheri Honkala, & Colia Clark, at the Rochester Public Market on October 20 from 8am-12pm.  Contact Alex White if you'd like to help out.
