Our second hour we will be discussing party business such as the upcoming November elections. We welcome anyone to attend either segment of our meeting, regardless of political affiliation.

If you need any accommodations please let us know by sending us a note here or calling us at (585) 360-0313. The Frederick Douglass Resource Center is located at 36 King St., Rochester. We hope to see you there!

Marriage Equality in Sight! Full Steam Ahead!

As the state legislative session starts winding down this June, it is important that we keep our State Senators accountable and let them know that it is time to pass marriage equality in New York State. The latest poll indicates a 58% support for this step towards equality, and the number only continues to grow. Our local senators hold a large amount of the responsibility for whether or not we are going to stop this blatant discrimination against same-sex couples. So if you haven't called or written a letter to your Senator, now is the time to do so. And if have already it sure doesn't hurt to let them know again that Monroe County wants to end the discrimination against its lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender citizens.
