Local Greens Look Forward To Gubernatorial Debate In Henrietta

(Henrietta, NY) Several candidates for Governor will be participating in a debate this Friday, October 22nd at 7pm at the Henrietta Town Hall, 475 Calkins Road. The debate is sponsored by a non-partisan group of citizens from both the Rochester area as well as New York City. All seven candidates were invited to participate. The candidates who accepted the invitation and will be participating will be Howie Hawkins from the Green Party, Warren Redlich of the Libertarian Party and Kristin Davis of the Anti-Prohibition Party.

The debate’s format will be different than the one recently taking place at Hofstra University in that while there will be moderators, unscripted questions from the audience will also be taken. The moderators will be Cynthia and Robert Goldstein of Henrietta, The debate will be sign language interpreted and a FM loop is available for the hearing impaired.

“We’re very happy for another opportunity for Howie Hawkins to explain the Green New Deal he envisions for New York,” said local Green Party organizer Alex White, “everyone was rushed in the last debate so it will be great to hear all the candidates who took the time to come explain their ideas in more detail.”

A number of local Greens have committed to being at the debate to show their support for their candidate, Howie Hawkins. More information on Hawkins’ campaign is at http://www.howiehawkins.com.
