9/11 First Responders Benefit - Cynthia McKinney

Cynthia McKinney, Green Party Presidential candidate, talks at a benefit for 9/11 First Responders after the screening of "Save The Brave" a documentary about First Responders and their families.

A disproportionate number of First Responders are ill as a result of the toxic conditions at the 9/11 site. The Government does not acknowledge the toxic conditions nor is it offering significant support to the First Responders or their survivors.

One key to changing that is a House Bill HR 3543 providing such resources. Cynthia McKinney supports such legislation and would go beyond that.

democraticunderground.com — What a lunatic. The Green Party really picked a good one to run for POTUS this cycle.

Why? Have YOU done any research on this? Or have you just decided that "we would never do a thing like that here"?

I haven't heard of this before, but I'd wait to see evidence one way or another before calling someone a lunatic.

It's not beyond belief that something like this could have happened. I know...Brian Williams didn't tell you it's so, therefore it must not have happened.

5,000+ killed get real dude. Even during the Watts riots in L.A. in the mid 60's or the Newark or Detroit riots the National Guard killed only a score of rioters.
Even Les Evenchick of the Louisiana Green Party who believes all sorts of conspiranoid jive doesn't believe this.
I hear martial law will be declared too and Dubya will cancel the elections. Any popular meme I've researched dude, see, for example, http://armchairgeneralist.typepad.com/my_weblog/2008/09/educating-the-b.html >...Glenn Greenwald has got his panties twisted up and is sounding the alarm over the assignment of the 3rd Infantry Division's 1st Brigade Combat Team to NORTHCOM for the mission of defense support to civil authorities (DSCA), as they say in Pentagonese. Translated, this means that this unit will be in the forefront of any military support to DHS as the federal government responds to a declared disaster or catastrophic event.SNIP, read it

As for Brian Willliams, ydda yada, I read and see tons of stuff from Democracy Now and Counterpunch and Dissident Voice on the Left to the Right-wing rags like The weekly Standard...but, lefties like you prefer to spout off w/o research.

Greens part two

Rosa Clemente, the hip-hop activist who is now Cynthia McKinney's vice presidential running mate on the Green Party ticket, made an acceptance speech this weekend during which she offered unequivocal praise for the Weather Underground, Mutulu Shakur (currently serving a 60-year term for his involvement in the BLA's notorious 1981 Brinks heist) and other supposed paragons of progressivism in America.

All I said was, I'd want to see facts one way or another before I start deciding to label someone. You..."anonymous", is throwing labels around and making judgements before you've done any research.

If you take a breath and look what I said, I only asserted that I wouldn't put it past our government or their hired thugs. I didn't say I had any proof one way or the other.

Your other assertions have absolutely nothing to do with this topic. Obfuscating the issue is a common tactic for people who just like to argue.

And as for your assessment of the media - I'd put DN, CommonDreams.org and most of the other non-mainstream media's reporting ahead of corporate muck any day.
