New York Senators: The Warmongers

In the US Senate on Thursday, Senators had the opportunity to bring our troops home with two different bills. One bill had a specific deadline, the other was less specific.

Both Clinton & Schumer voted against this bill:
Number: S.Amdt. 4442 to S. 2766

To require the redeployment of United States Armed Forces from Iraq in order to further a political solution in Iraq, encourage the people of Iraq to provide for their own security, and achieve victory in the war on terror.

Both voted for the watered down version.

If you want this occupation to end, you must vote for Green candidates.

Did Your Senator Vote for Peace?

On Friday, the Senate voted to table (a.k.a. kill) legislation calling for the US to be out of Iraq by the end of the year. Voting Nea for this meant continuing discussion of the issue. How did your Senator vote?

Nea (6)
Boxer (D-CA)
Byrd (D-WV)
Feingold (D-WI)
Harkin (D-IA)
Kennedy (D-MA)
Kerry (D-MA)

Oops...looks like both Senators who supposedly represent New Yorkers voted to table this legislation. Too bad we don't have true representatives in Washington.

Play Ball!

Earlier I posted about the situation with the Rochester Red Wings and the minor league baseball umps. Well, the umpire strike was for all the minor leagues, but I was keeping it local. Anyway, the umpires signed a labor agreement and will back on the job by June 12th. So we labor advocates can go back to Red Wing games now.
